The two-storey barn consists of a threshing floor and a stable part, with the latter including the school privy. Hay and produce were stored in the separate areas on the upper floor. The small extension at the left gable side, a semi-basement, was used as a chicken coop. As a suitable outbuilding for a local schoolyard, as it said in a contemporary municipal document, was missing, the municipality of M\u00fcnchhausen bought this stable barn in 1851 at the request of teacher Johann Schneider. Due to the lack of timber in the Nassau region, an extraordinary permission to extract 100 fathoms of timber was granted by the ducal authorities for necessary repairs and for building the extension.<\/p>\n

A tin smithy (working with sheet metal) has been set up in the stable part now that the building is in the Open Air Museum. In the next few years, this workshop will be relocated to a more suitable structure in the Northern Hesse Ensemble.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\r\n\t\t\t<\/div>\r\n\t\t<\/div>\r\n\t<\/div>\r\n<\/div>\n\n
