The Hessenpark Open Air Museum is a member of the ICOM, International Council Of Museums. All ICOM members who produce a valid ID card at the ticket office will be admitted free of charge.<\/p>\n

Visitors who only wish to shop or visit the restaurants on the marketplace should inform the ticket office and will receive free access.<\/p>\n

Exceptions apply during the plant markets, the tractor meet (Treckertreff), and on the first three Advent weekends. On these dates, the marketplace is only freely accessible for a short shopping visit (maximum 30 minutes). The admission fee must be paid in advance. A refund will be issued if guests return to the ticket office within the specified time frame.<\/p>\n

The Martinsklause from Remsfeld in the North Hesse building group is not freely accessible.<\/p>\n

Refugees can enter the Hessenpark Open Air Museum free of charge. Please show your residence permit at the cash desk. For people from Ukraine who have recently come to Germany, it is sufficient to present an identity document. We ask larger groups to register their visit in advance. \nYou can easily cycle to the Open Air Museum. From the centre of Bad Homburg, it is only 13 kilometres. \nSurrounding Hessenpark in the Taunus forest are numerous hiking routes that lead to the Open Air Museum. Service for familys with children<\/strong>
\nFamilies are very welcome at the Open Air Museum. To make your visit with young children fully enjoyable, we offer a selection of handcarts free of charge. Changing facilities are available in the main entrance building as well as, in the Northern Hesse Ensemble, in the toilets of the House from Remsfeld, Martinsklause and the Manor House from Solms. The playground (Northern Hesse Ensemble) is located next to the Stable Barn from Asterode, the exhibition building (Northern Hesse Ensemble).<\/p>\n

Information for visitors with disabilities<\/strong>
\nParking spaces for visitors with disabilities are located immediately next to the museum\u2019s entrance. Both the entrance area and the box office are fully accessible. The box office offers visitors a barrier-free plan of the museum. Accessible toilets are available throughout the Open Air Museum and marked on the site maps. Although some roads and paths are cobbled, many sections of the routes have special surfacing that can be easily used by wheelchairs and mobility scooters.<\/p>\n

Unfortunately, numerous reconstructed buildings do not offer barrier-free access due to their historic structural conditions (steep steps, narrow doors and small rooms). We apologize for the inconvenience. Please be assured that we do our best trying to consider the needs of all our visitors when planning new projects and measures. Our new, modern exhibition building, the Stable Barn from Asterode (Northern Hesse Ensemble), offers over 300 square meters of accessible exhibition space. And the Synagogue from Gro\u00df-Umstadt (Southern Hesse Ensemble) have an accessible entry ramp.<\/p>\n

Smoke-free museum<\/strong>
\nSince 1 March 2011, there has been a ban on smoking throughout the Open-Air Museum\u2019s premises to protect the historical buildings from the effects of smoke, and the natural surroundings from the risk of fire. However, smoking is permitted in areas identified as smoking zones. The smoking ban applies in all buildings. Visiting with dogs<\/strong>
