Harvest Festival and Autumn Market

The Harvest Festival is one of the most beloved traditions at the Hessenpark. Since the early days of the open-air museum, the end of summer has been celebrated each year with harvest and craft demonstrations, food, and drink. Visitors can experience the threshing process, watch straw rope being made, and take part in Thanksgiving devotions. Children can show off their craftsmanship by carving pumpkins and help with the potato harvest, weather permitting.

Culinary delights are also well taken care of: the potato steaming unit is in operation, producing freshly steamed Hessenpark table potatoes served with a variety of delicious accompaniments. In addition, the autumn market attracts guests with a wide range of handmade crafts: knitted and sewn goods, decorations for home and garden, jewelry, and much more!

Autumn Market: 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
