Smouldering of the Charcoal Kiln

2. June 2026, 9:00 - 17:00
Twice a year, charcoal is produced in a traditional charcoal kiln at the Open-Air Museum. The construction, ignition, smoldering, and opening of the kiln take place in several stages. During his work, the charcoal burner is happy to explain his craft to interested visitors and answer their questions.
From May 25 to June 7, the charcoal kiln will be smoldering. Charcoal made in the Hessenpark charcoal kiln is available seasonally in the museum shop.
