Apple Days

25. October 2026, 11:00 - 17:00
Autumn is apple season! During the Apple Days, fresh apple must made from Possmann apples is pressed in the farmstead from Emstal-Sand. It is available at the counter – for immediate enjoyment or to take away.
Each day at 3 p.m., there will be a public guided tour all about planting, pruning, and caring for fruit trees. Also on the program: an exhibition of old apple varieties and an exciting fruit rally. Anyone who owns an apple or pear tree can bring our pomologist at least five fruits and have the variety identified.
In the rope-making workshop from Gießen, the wide range of traditional standard apple varieties from the Hessenpark will be available for tasting and purchase on both days. Children can use small hand presses in the cider house to produce their own apple juice. The opening of the charcoal-burning clamp in the Central Hesse building group is also part of the Apple Days program.
