The Leine Goose
Since 2013, a stately pair of extremely endangered Leine Geese has made Hessenpark their home for breeding. It is thanks to the commitment of a few concerned geese friends who since 1994 have made it even possible for this breed to survive (only six Leine Geese remain). The »Leinegans« is named after its original habitation area along the river Leine and spread from there to north Hesse.
